My time at °®¶¹´«Ã½ has been one of my favorite experiences. Their words only pushed me to go to college and not only prove them wrong but prove to myself that I could indeed do it. Now I am transferring to CSULA with a major that I absolutely love. Thank you to my mom and my dad for believing in me.
In Guam where I'm from you either head to the military, attend college on island, or just work a normal 9-5 job. Very few have the courage to leave the comfort of the island, and chase their dream like I did! However, I will never forget my island roots.

Martin Luther King told me this: When I can't run, I need to walk and when I can't walk, I need to crawl. But I need to never give up. I find that some days all I could do is sit and wait for the Universe to heal my pain, my relationships, and my community. The difference between now and and the dark days of 2020 is that I have learned to overcome when the skies are blue or dark. I now have learned to enjoy every breath no matter if I am walking, running, crawling or jumping. I take nothing for granted. Life is good even when it hurts. This degree I put out there to honor Thomas Holguin

Now I have a solid support system, friends, family, and enough self love to continue to be successful. I will be moving forward with my AA and working towards my BA in Psychology, and ultimately an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy or Clinical Psychology. Congratulations class of 2021, YOU made it!

I'm very happy to say I'm halfway there to a BA! The road of a degree is a challenging one, but I wouldn't have it any other way. The many nights when I wanted to quit or felt too tired, my family pushed me to keep going. The opportunity to attend college is the one I cherish the most. My parents did not get to graduate college because they had me instead, and for that, I am grateful they loved and supported me for every decision up to this point. I only hope that I can continue to make my parents, siblings, and loved ones proud. Mom, Dad, Grandpa Manuel, this is for you.
Returning to °®¶¹´«Ã½ was the best decision I’ve made for myself. After a long, but rewarding journey I’m off to UC Santa Cruz! Thank you to my family and my partner for supporting me and encouraging me to continue my education. Congrats everyone and good luck in all of your future endeavors!

A special thank you to my family, friends and staff at °®¶¹´«Ã½ College for all the support! Congratulations Class of 2021!!
I enjoyed my time at °®¶¹´«Ã½, both the two years on campus and final year online. I value the support received in obtaining my degree at my own pace.
I did this for my kids. I didn’t want to “tell†them what to do, but to “show†them what to do! The main lessons that I wanted to teach them is that it’s never too late to follow your dreams, and to NEVER give up on yourself! For me, this journey was about learning self-discipline and delayed gratification. Two things I did not learn in my youth. To my husband James and my children Elijah, Ava and Jimmy: you are the reasons I wake up, everyday, wanting to be a better person than the one I was the day before! All glory to God for blessing me with my husband and my children.
We are not here to be average, we are here to be amazing!!
I sincerely want to thank my friends and family for all of the time and energy they have put into helping me achieve my goals. I wouldn’t have made it this far without their love and support.
Be humble and kind, and always follow your dreams.

Thank you to my grandparents for the constant reassurance about how life gets better. And, to my mom, thank you for pushing me to get out there to try new things, to get through school, and letting me stress rant to you about how stressed I was. I wouldn't have been able to do it without you by my side :)

I would like to thank my mother who's watching me from up above. RIP Momma. This was a very difficult journey but I know how proud you must be to watch me accomplish one of the goals I promised. I will walk the stage while my two beautiful daughters Mariana and Juliana are watching me. They will always remember what sacrifices I took to conquer my purpose. This is only the beginning, on to the next chapter. 3 girls, 1 goal
