Course Justification
This course is CSU transferable and part of a CTE program. This course belongs on the Certificate of Achievement in Health Technologies. The student will transcribe audio dictation detailing a patient's medical records into electronic record system (EHR). Edits speech recognition and documentation of patient's medical records into an EHR while on their externship.

Assignments

- Discuss methodologies, theories and interpretation of results with student clinical site supervisor.
- Analyze progress, answer questions, address concerns and review daily worksheets during weekly meetings with the clinical site supervisor
Methods of Evaluation
- Lab Activity-Practice techniques in the clinical site setting designed to demonstrate critical thinking skills and to problem solve as required
- Problem Solving-Working in the clinical site will evaluate the student’s ability to apply critical thinking skills to the real clinical situation
- Final assessment for the student is based on the student's ability to demonstrate learned skills and clinical site worksheets designed to track and evaluate student's progress and performance.
