This is a course in a CTE program that was developed based on the need for some students to have more opportunities to develop their NCLEX (national nursing licensing exam) test-taking skills. This computerized test utilizes a variety of testing formats. This is a stand-alone course.

Methods of Instruction


Discussion or interpretation of project results

Suggest methods of remediation for bettering of exam results

Meet with student weekly to discuss test analyses and plan for improvement.

Assignments


  • To be determined in consultation with the director. See Sections 3 and 4 of the Special Project Contract.
    1. Complete computer NCLEX exam questions on weekly basis.
    2. Evaluate own test-taking skills.
    3. Analyze areas of strength and weakness.
    4. Develop a remediation plan for improvement of results.

Methods of Evaluation


  1. Completed NCLEX exam questions per contract to evaluate ability to evaluate patient data presented, critically analyze the comprehensive patient situation and decide on the appropriate and safe plan of care per the Standards of Nursing Practice.
  2. Achieve 80% on final NCLEX exam per the contract.
