Basic Medical Terminology
Course Description
This is an orientation course to medical terminology; the basic structure of medical terms and their components: prefixes, suffixes, and roots, emphasizing analysis, definition, spelling, and pronunciation.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Illustrate the word components of medical terminology.
- Develop medical terms as they relate to the body's structure, diseases of the various body systems, medical specialties and medical specialists.
- Demonstrate the interpretation of medical abbreviations.
