Two °®¶¹´«Ã½ alumni have won MacArthur Foundation "Genius Grants," awarded annually to artists, scientists, activists and others who are singled out for their "exceptional creativity" and the potential for making a significant impact in their fields.

A °®¶¹´«Ã½ student has won a $2,000 scholarship from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Jia Yi Lim was recognized for her work as director, editor, videographer and producer on several films made with fellow students.

Matt Trosper, who has been °®¶¹´«Ã½'s athletics academic coordinator for 27 years, will be honored next month with an award from a statewide professional group, the Community College Counselors/Advisors Academic Association for Athletics (3C4A).

The League for Innovation in the Community College will present its annual Excellence Awards next month to three members of the °®¶¹´«Ã½ community. The awards are given for outstanding contributions in teaching, leadership and service.
