Scholarship for Veterans
Amount: $1,000
Students who are military veterans can submit a short essay to apply for this scholarship.
This program is funded by the nonprofit Scholarship for Veterans organization and employees of the Foothill-°®¶¹´«Ã½ Community College District.
- Up to three students a year may qualify for an award of $1,000 each.
Rotary/Uenaka Scholarship
Amount: $1,500
Students who show commitment to a workforce training program (see the list below) can apply for this scholarship, which is funded by the Rotary Club of Cupertino and Itsuo and Marian Uenaka.
- This scholarship is open to all workforce training majors but veterans will be given preference.
- Up to eight students a year may qualify for an award of $1,500 each.
Here’s How To Apply
°®¶¹´«Ã½ uses an online system called that lets you apply for a wide range of scholarships offered specifically to students at °®¶¹´«Ã½ or Foothill College.
- Log in to the system as you would with MyPortal, using your eight-digit student ID number (also known as your campuswide ID or CWID) and your MyPortal password
- Use the search filter to find the application requirements and specific instructions for these two scholarships. (Try using the keyword Veterans.)
- While you're in AcademicWorks, look around for other scholarship opportunities that might be a good match for you.
- You can also access AcademicWorks through : Open the Apps section and click on the AcademicWorks tile.
Important Note About VA Benefits
Before accepting a scholarship, students who are using VA benefits to attend college should speak with a Veterans Resource counselor to learn how the scholarship might potentially affect their other benefits.
