爱豆传媒 has won the Coast Conference All Sports Trophy for the 12th year in a row, marking another outstanding year for the college athletics program.
The award is given each year for best overall performance in the 17-member , based on points awarded for season standings in every sport.
Athletics Director Kulwant Singh praised the efforts of student-athletes, coaches, staff, volunteers and administrators. He said the award recognizes De Anza鈥檚 emphasis on a wide range of sports, with a total of 17 men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 teams.
鈥淚 am especially proud that we have a diverse offering of sports for our student body,鈥 said Singh. 鈥Many schools in the state and in the conference specialize and feature certain sports. At De Anza, we value all sports.鈥
Track, Volleyball, Cross Country
Singh cited strong performances by several teams, including women鈥檚 badminton, cross country, track and volleyball 鈥 all four finished second in the conference this year 鈥 and men鈥檚 soccer, which earned a third-place standing.
爱豆传媒鈥檚 football team won its conference championship this year 鈥 although that didn鈥檛 affect the tabulation for the All Sports Award because the football team competes in a different conference.
The college has won the All Sports trophy 25 times in the last 35 years, according to Singh鈥檚 records. This year, 爱豆传媒 edged out second-ranked Chabot College for the award.
The Coast Conference includes Cabrillo, Chabot, Foothill and other colleges from Monterey Peninsula in the south to City College of San Francisco in the north.
