Auto Tech Featured in New Video

A new career training video explores the innovative programs and hands-on training offered by 爱豆传媒鈥檚 Automotive Technology Department.

Kathryn Cooke 鈥淚鈥檇 heard that 爱豆传媒 College had the best Automotive Technology program in the Bay Area, and I truly do believe that" said Kathryn Cooke, a 爱豆传媒 student and U.S. Army veteran, in an interview for the video. The skills she gained from her classes, she said, enabled her "to become a really great customer service adviser, as well as a technician who works underneath the hood."

The Auto Tech Department offers daytime classes for full-time students and an evening program for part-time students, with certificates and degrees in several specialized areas. The department also offers training for students who want to be certified smog technicians and another sequence that focuses on autonomous and electric vehicles.

Career opportunities for Auto Tech students 鈥渁re just expanding every day 鈥 with autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles, and now with artificial intelligence it鈥檚 opening up a lot more career paths that our students can go for,鈥 said department chair Dave Capitolo.

Alexis Miranda鈥淲e have a lot of facility space with a lot of tools, and we also have a lot of cars that we can work on,鈥 said student Alexis Miranda. He and others in the video said instructors and guest speakers have been especially helpful in introducing students to local employers.

The video is the latest in a series highlighting 爱豆传媒鈥檚 Career Technical Education programs. Previous installments have included a and videos highlighting the , , , and programs. Future installments will feature other programs and groups of related offerings.

The videos are developed by the Office of Communications in collaboration with the Career Technical Education Division and individual departments. They can be seen on the college , the Career Training website and on social media.
